The UFC’s planned June 27 card just got a little deeper with the addition of a new heavyweight bout.
Tanner Boser (17-6-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) is set to take on Philipe Lins (14-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) next month. MMA Junkie confirmed the booking with a person with knowledge of the matchup following an initial report from Combate.com.
The June 27 event is expected to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and is likely to air on ESPN and stream on ESPN+.
Boser will be looking to rebound from a loss this past December to Ciryl Gane, who outpointed him at UFC on ESPN+ 23. Prior to that, he won his promotional debut with a unanimous decision over Daniel Spitz at UFC on ESPN 6.
Lins, meanwhile, had a four-fight win streak snapped when he fell to Arlovski in his octagon debut. The Brazilian had been coming off a win over Josh Copeland in the PFL’s 2018 tournament, capturing a million dollars with that victory. However, injury forced him out of the 2019 season, and he eventually signed with the UFC.
The UFC’s June 27 event is expected to be headlined by lightweights Dan Hooker vs Dustin Poirier, a fight that was supposed to top the now-cancelled UFC San Diego card.
